What is the Smalltown Boy screaming cat dance?

Identify the close-up reaction and background dancer, then learn how to make this version with your own cat or dog photos.

Updated October 13, 2026.

If you saw a cat reacting dramatically close to the camera while another dances behind, followed by a duo performance, you may mean the Smalltown Boy AI cat dance. The name refers to the song “Smalltown Boy” by Bronski Beat, but different videos use different routines and edits.

Match the movement, not just the music

Look for the opening reaction, the partner dancing in the background and the paired performance. Compare the setting, sequence and ending with the full sample. A dance filmed by people, a CapCut edit and an AI-generated pet video can share a soundtrack without sharing a template.

This site's version is a fixed 14-second vertical performance using a red-fence reference. It does not promise every shot from a longer remix.

Can I put my own pets in it?

The studio accepts two subject photos, one for each role. You can choose people or pets. Our published sample uses fictional cat and dog characters; it is not proof that every real pet photo will produce the same result.

Pick distinct, clearly visible subjects. Put the pet you want in the opening reaction into A, and the initial background dancer into B. Read the photo guide for framing tips and follow the two-photo tutorial.

Do I need to write a cat-dance prompt?

No. The reference performance is already supplied. You cannot request custom choreography through this preset. If your main requirement is a different movement or camera sequence, this fixed template may not suit it.

Will it include the song I heard?

The original song was added to our sample after generation. Your generated output can sound different and does not guarantee that recording. Listen to the completed clip before sharing; if you add another soundtrack, use audio suitable for your intended use.

Personalized generation is paid. Review pricing before starting; viewing the example is free.
